Blah.

What is the purpose of blogging. It's fun to do if you can can dedicate yourself to it, but if you can't you feel like you're stuck in front of a computer screen being forced to do another chore. It's especially frustrating when no one reads it, but I think that is partly my fault. A blog is supposed to have a purpose.
I don't have one for this blog.
I am thinking about starting a new blog, something similar to Julia/Julie. That seems extreemly interesting and fun. :)

thoughts

I want a journal. A leather bound journal with thick yellow pages. I could sketch all my ideas and record my thoughts within its bindings and be able to survive my stressful days. I could write prayers in it and God could picture the words and form them into the perfect sense I was trying to make.
Each page would be filled, and each would represent a day in my life.
The book would be a comfort and feel sturdy in my hands. A woman's journal, not a diary.

A Day of Twisted Worlds

Given legs, Adira was never promised what type of legs she would have. Her legs are scrawny and look like they were severed from each other. They can hardly support her weight, let alone transport to her freedom. It's very hard to flirt when you can't walk straight. Two days earlier she tried to save a man while he flailed in the water, and she, by some effort, managed to push him onto the beach. Unfortunately, she gets trapped in a fisherman's net as a result. Adira had no desire to peruse this man into his world. She preferred the water. But an ancient feud between the sea witch and her father caused her to grow legs. Adira, trapped in the fisherman's net, was forced into an ultimatum. The humans who captured her would recognize the creature she was and imprison her. Mermaids were not magical to them; they were pests who released the fish from their grasp. Swimming under her like a phantom, the witch with her swirling grey hair tempts her, saying she can save her. The witch will give her legs and the fishermen will have captured an innocent, harmless girl. But the witch warns her, the only way to undo the spell and return to the ocean is by the power of a kiss from the prince she saved. If she can not extract this kiss in the next month, she will be banished to live on the land forever. Adira helplessly agrees.
But how could anyone love a cripple?
(P.S. If I ever wrote this storyline. She wouldn't end up with the prince. He's supposed to be a pig and remain a pig.)

Day I don't know.

Finally I've read a good book to stop the pattern of poor entertainment. A book of a thousand days by Shannon Hale is great. Its no classic but it is very entertaining and it may be my favorite book by her. It tells the story of Maid Maleen. Its a Grimm's fairytale that not too many have read but it very interesting all the same. A princess is locked in a tower for 7 years because she refuses to marry the evil suitor her father has chosen for her. However, as she waits in the tower, her kingdom is destroyed. Eventually she pushes herself from her dungeon and back into the world.
It's really good.
I recommend reading the original tale.
But there really is nothing like reading a good book to inspire you to read again. This book reminded me why I love fairy tales as much as I do.
They are perfect and happy, and for a moment you can relax into the tale and know that despite all the conflicts everything will fit together in the end. Some could call this cliche or predictable; I find it comforting. Too many things go awry in the world for me to crave stressful books.
I'm not saying I don't read other genres. I love me some vastly different books :3.
But there is something very charming and challenging in fairy tales.
The author can read a predictable story and know the coutures of the plot, but then they have to be truly creative and deliver a dish that is completely knew to its devourer.
Some interpretations will be breathtaking.
Others will be stale.
But that's the adventure of it; and I'd love to take part in it.

Day 15

So today I am going to rant on my least favorite punctuation mark. The exclamation point.
Now, yes, this ending to a sentence is always enjoyable for the two year old requesting pie or trying to be annoying to his 17 year old sister, but other than that, this punctuation mark crawls under your skin faster than the first chill of winter.
Currently I am reading a book that loves to use this device all too frequently. Using it at the end of long passages of though process, the author tries to infuse energy into the text. She tries and fails and I am left thinking her writing is immature.
The dialogue doesn't sound sincere. The thought process seems rushed and fake.
Does anyone else agree?
Ugh, I need better books to read. This is the third book in a row that I have not been satisfied with. First with Violet Eyes (don't read. Its really poorly written), Enchanted (Filled with Orson Scott Card's pervertedness), and now Ice ( I don't know how they managed to mess up my favorite fairytale, but they did).
Any brilliant/breath taking books you would recommend?

Day 13 or 14?

I'M SLIPPING. I seem to be on a trend of writing every other day rather tehn every day. But at least I'm writing something AND eventually maybe I'll even achieve something creative. I mean to write teh second chapter of my story soon. But I don't know when. I have to do alot of planning and mapping, so if there are several days missing: this is why. I can't put my planning up for you to read. If you even read this at all.
Young Victoria is a really good film if you want to see it.

Day 12:

Yesterday I was lazy. Today I was productive. But today I was still lazy when it came to writing on this blog.
I need to write something each day. Even if it isn't a lot, or 20 minutes, it will allow me to strech my mind.
Yes there is no day 11. Like I said before, I was lazy yesterday. I'm trying to be consistent but sometimes it just happens. It litterally didn't cross my mind to blog yesterday.
But today. Today's a story.
I got up at 9 am and started cleaning my room. This means I tore open my closet, dusted, vacuumed, sorted, trashed, and finally restored my room to cleanliness. It took me 8 hours. In the heat. With a really really big fan blowing in my face.
My mom thinks its a miracle how my room looks now. It was a dump before and now, I didn't think it was possible, my room looks bigger and brighter. There is so much junk you can collect over a year.
I filled 3 trashbags. 1 completely with trash, 1 with unwanted clothes, 1 with winter clothes.
My life in bags.
Night people. Ill try not to miss tomorrow.
